BACK TO THE FUTURE PLOTTING POST The good news of the week is that recruits are making great progress bug-stomping! The bad news is that they haven't quite gotten all of the bugs. Those left, which is a thankfully very small part of the original population, very suddenly stop eating, stop attacking, and vanish from sight. All is quiet in Oska. That is, of course, until September 1st. The temporal bugs haven't left, they've just secreted themselves away and into cocoons. And what comes out of those cocoons? Something a whole lot meaner. When these guys hatch they're going to be loud, angry, and very aggressive. They're much larger now, about the size of a bull, and they're no longer interested in munching on temporal energy. They will instead attack anything they run into on sight, and can only be dissuaded by death or by the sight of another of the evolved bugs. In the event that two of them meet up, they'll immediately fixate on each other. What follows is presumably some sort of mating dance, which cumulates in the two of them gnawing their way out of this dimension. This produces a rift scar that leaves everything in the area a little temporally weird (more of those ghosts from part 1, but with a lot less flickering), until the area heals over in a day or two. There's one more effect the bugs have: their bites also cause temporal oddities, but localized to the person bitten. It sets in anywhere from 2 to 24 hours after the initial bite, and can last anywhere from two hours to seven days. Characters bitten will find themselves shifting through their own timeline, back into the past already lived, or up into any number of potential futures. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it: characters may remember their time thus far with ALASTAIR clearly, foggily, or not at all, and might not even be anchored to just one alternative point, but drift between a few of them. If anyone has ever wanted to revisit puberty, now would be a great time for it. Things will have returned fully to normal one week later, just in time for the next mission dossier to drop. and yeah that works to get em started! once ramir realizes what's happening she'd clam up so spoilers don't get back to lil ramir, so that's not much of an issue. maybe she meets him while he's young, realizes who he is, and... he's still a robin right, he could probably suss out that she knows more than she's letting on, if he doesn't have futuro memories. she'd think he was adorable and humor him slightly. whatever direction sounds most fun works for me too!

OH BOY SHIT GOING WRONG :'))))) i am so into this. so in this potential future where she somehow was convincing enough to make him agree to it, ending up as bitter ex-friend rivals sounds lovely. she'd be so pissed that she ever thought it was a good idea to bring him home, she used to be so naive and idealistic >:| and as for the how, while her organization is USUALLY pretty robin hoody and good-of-the-community, they definitely do some self-serving and shady crap. it could be morals that didn't quite align and an argument that went too far, or even someone set them up to divide and weaken, or something like that. if you were up to x2 threads, i'd love to do part 1 she runs into cute lil robin and part 2 she runs into a guy a little closer to the guy she hates (B

BUT MAN I WANT BOTH SO I AM SO UP FOR TWO THREADS....JUST FOR THIS MESS............. lbr jason is not exactly the most fair or balanced dude all the time so things could definitely have fallen apart over some clashing principles/someone setting them up (this would be so good tbh... thinks on it) or w/e, we can be vague on the specifics probably until we need to not be.

my heart wants the setup, and justifies it by saying otherwise their principles really do align pretty closely, it could be hard to find something that would divide them so much otherwise. BUT all that's probably moot because there's no way she'd get into the details anyway.

OH WAIT ALSO ONE MORE THING. this is a world without sigma, he said no to coming with her what a dick, and current ramir is nursing a bit of a crush she'd have gone for without sigma in the picture -- do you want to involve romance (attempted or otherwise, her getting turned down happens a lot in 'canon') in this as well, yae or nay

yeah that's the hard part but luckily GETTING SET UP IS JUST SO GOOD......also leaves room for MORE THEORETICAL VENGEANCE on third parties later, that's always nice. I'm sold.

also WOW SIGMA u jerk. tbh I don't actually think it'd be all that implausible that they'd get involved at some point, considering. esp since it'd have to get to the point where he picks up and fucks off with her. she's patient enough with him being squirrely so far and she's already definitely got the most trust he's put in anyone since talia and in a much less...complicated way... goes for max betrayal if you're up for it ig.

we need to leave room for our grimdark future characters to make up and make good in this theoretical future we'll never see, right. that's important. but yeah that works then!! some enemy doing some thinning of the ranks, and did a really good job of it.

and ah you oblige my shipper's heart, so good of you. i had planned that she'd be with the love interest lady from her story at her current day, but i could probably make both work if her divide with jason is definitely not a recent thing. like maybe 5 years ago, or something. and then double bonus, if lil ramir figures out they were a thing she'd have to confront the fact that she's got that crush (B

1. look just because i like bad ends doesn't mean I don't also like gratuitous hypothetical vengeance plots, pls look at my character choices.

2. what are friends for, tbh, I can give up the slow burn life in au future land. but ye that makes lots of sense, he's a hot mess he'd probably be pretty shit for anything resembling actual sustained functioning relationships anyway, lbr. please love yourself, ramir.

also, 3. this is a dumb logistical question.......do you wanna do like...younger/older(??? whichever one works better for you I've lost track nevermind I remembered we worked that out) ramir/robin jason in thread 1 and older ramir/older jason in thread 2 and just sort of write them simultaneously for ease instead of wrapping up one at a time? since it seems like the latter might have enough future-baggage that it shouldn't need to crutch too much on what happens in the former. mostly bc it looks like it'll give them a lot to chew on for the future and I'm shitty and slow for boomeranging purposes but I can usually hit 2 threads at once to keep them going at a steady pace, that way we can get no.2 pretty well underway before the game moves on too much.
