As the new mission approaches, we'd like to take the time to brief you on that and give you a final note on the success of Perdition's Rest.
PERDITION'S REST EPILOGUEThose who participated in the Perdition's Rest mission will receive a message on their jewelcomm:
Audentes:
Thank you for your efforts in Perdition's Rest. Your team has reached its primary mission goal in halting the mining efforts and investigating the "Deemer" faction within the local population. The reemergence of Zymandis forces in this quadrant is worrisome, and we have shifted some of our non-fieldwork recruits to analyst positions to better watch for their activities.
Our scientists are hard at work finding ways to extract the Zymandis Taraxa from hosts without death or permanent neurological damage, and your captured samples will be helpful both in dealing with the infested Qorral and with any future infestations ALASTAIR may encounter.
Audentes's efforts in containing and/or eliminating the Zymandis infiltrator agents on Q-65 have left your team highly regarded by others, fresh and veteran recruits alike.
Due to your team's investigation into the missing ALASTAIR files left behind during our previous stay on Q-65, we have uncovered why the planet was once under our protection and why Zymandis is targeting it: there is a temporal crystal within its core that is a weakness in this universe. If Zymandis had completed its goal of mining into the core, this entire universe would have Shattered.
Finding this information, then, was a highly important task, further cementing your team's importance to ALASTAIR. Our temporal specialists are currently working on a way to safely remove the crystal to cover this temporal weakness.
The future of Q-65 itself is uncertain, a large portion having collapsed in your team's efforts in destroying the Qorral's fracking fields, as well as the damage sustained during the Battle of Perditon's Rest. However, much of the planet remains untouched, and may sustain its native life without problem. We will continue to monitor the planet for further developments.
The Qorral appear to have taken Audentes's alternate argecite solutions to heart; we have received reports that their homeworld is looking into your team's synthetic argecite recipe, as well as debating the merits of increasing taxes or dipping into treasury surplus in order to buy argecite from different worlds instead of colonizing argecite-rich planets to mine them. The Qorral planetary conservation movement has also appeared to gain more strength due to Audentes's influence, which seems to point to a less destructive future for the Qorral.
Your success in this mission will result in a more stable Timeline. As always, thank you for your work.
-- ALASTAIR
