OOC Counterpart to IC Meeting!

Hello! This is Allyson and Emily, breaking up the introductions with Ahad and Glee’s Big Happy Icebreaker and Infodump.

(We planned to do this last week, but got thrown off by people being in jail. On November 24th, all characters with working crystals would have received a text message informing them that Due to extenuating circumstances, the planned meeting has been postponed to December 2nd.)

This meeting is intended to ICly (1) provide a chance for characters to meet each other and (2) facilitate the exchange of information between characters, both old characters who’ve fallen out of the loop and new arrivals. But in the interest of not having to repeatedly thread out the same spiel twenty times, we’re throwing up this IC companion post.

Basically, if your character has information, and would have expressed plot information publicly at the meeting, please post the gist of that information here. The idea is that if it gets posted here, and your character attended the meeting, your character will know this stuff, even if you didn’t thread it all the way through.

Thanks for your patience and help with this!

Oh, this is a good idea, thanks.

Phoenix mostly has the information he got from the Agatha Belrose house investigation, which is to say that for a kidnapped woman, she doesn't seem very kidnapped-ish, and that there was evidence she had gone out somewhere into the woods at some point or another and came back. This is a bit of a moot point since we know what happened to them now, but yeah.

He also reports from the goblin side that the conditions are pretty bad, and that the goblin chief seems to have some sort of healing capacity he only uses in the church, but he can't confirm and he hasn't been able to get the chief to open up about it. Yet.

Accord mostly has her observations, which is that there was definitely a small crowd that instigated the fight a while back, and that most of the castle population seem in the dark about the general events. She might be a bit smug that her suspicions about the King's willingness to use the goblins as a scapegoat are correct.

Ahad has information he learned about Odette from one of the nobles. Apparently, the goblin Gremly (you know, the Queen's 'murderer') was a personal friend of the Queen, but now it's suspected that he was faking it. The King and Queen were separated at the time, and Gremly became the Queen's confidante. Apparently, the king allegedly suspected something before the Queen died and spread rumors to that effect.

There's also the matter of the King refusing to let anyone see the Queen's body after she died. The noble Ahad spoke to speculated that she must have looked quite unpleasant. Ahad's going to let everyone draw their own conclusions from this.

Oh right, I had another point. Ahad did some investigation on Ydite. Besides hearing that Ydite's very peaceful and pacifistic, apparently Ydite only interacts with worshipers indirectly.

...Wait a damn second. The King suspected the goblin confidante and just spread RUMORS?

Rumors that something was going on before the Queen died, even.

Wow, okay, yeah. Phoenix is going to be all up ons this. Because that is some seriously wonky behavior from a guy who suspects a member of a hated race is going to do something bad to his wife.

Re: Riza and Kida meeting the King -
1. At some point, the King became aware that the goblins were capable of some pretty strong magic and wouldn't hesitate to use it against him, so he decided to make the first move by hiring ALASTAIR to take care of the goblins for him. Except that kind of backfired, whoops.
2. Re: the Queen's assasination, the King said that her goblin "friend" most likely put something in her dinner one evening and she passed away later that night.
Bonus 3. The King is an unfaithful SOB who didn't feel particularly loyal to the Queen and has no problems sleeping around, even now.

Re: the Home Investigation -
Ditto what Phoenix would have mentioned, that her house was pretty lived in for someone who had mysteriously disappeared. She specifically found a bunch of jars of herbs (mostly of the medicinal variety), some gemstones, and a candle, but was unable to make much out of that.

Re: the Order Meeting -
Nothing more than would have been learned from the OOC plotting post for that

Re: all these dudes in jail, why -
She would have gotten a list of all the ALASTAIR recruits in jail from Kida, as well as current prison conditions. There are several guards that rotate duty, and they're not above "questioning" (read: most likely torturing) inmates for more information on the Order. Everything else she would've learned is stuff mentioned on the OOC post.

This is all pretty jumbled, so if you need any clarification let me know!

[personal profile] strictdiscipline 2015-12-04 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
APPARENTLY

and uh i have no deets for you other than the obvious - he wanted all the goblins gone and instead the ALASTAIR recruits are being nosy and asking questions and campaigning on behalf of the goblins instead of just wiping them out

if you want more deets i can check in with the mods but that was the impression i got from them

A note about Michel:

This will probably come up ICly once characters are released from prison, but! You may know Michel as the leader of the Order of the Chimera, a man of mixed human-goblin descent, and the asshole who put out the sun. Also, ALASTAIR members are stuck in jail with him. Fun times! I asked the mods if there was anything relevant they'd get to know about him, and I got:

1. He's a huge misanthropic douche with anger management issues, as Arthur strongly implied. Like, Bruce Banner "that's my secret, Cap"-levels of no chill.

2. He feels strongly (see: is super pissed) about not having his magic, so it's safe to infer he considers it important.

3. He yells at the guards but otherwise has very little patience for people not in the Order--hell, even for people who are in the Order.

SO YEAH. This is what we're dealing with.

Also, on a purely OOC note, I'd like to apologize that I never did manage to have Kida publicly give out the information about the King like I said I would--by the time Val and I (oocly) got the info, the Order meeting was in full swing and characters were getting thrown in jail, by which time it was too late. Weh.

HI.

SO.

Loki's got a few things.

1. She has Odette's diary. It talks about a relationship between Odette and a goblin named Gremly and her failing marriage. Loki suspects a goblin paramour, but you know, it's Loki.

2. Michel and Arthur are two ring-leaders at the meeting, both of which Loki's seen before. They're goblin-human half-breeds. Michel is the one who's apparently responsible for blotting out the sun, and he has other plans to make that get um, more intense.

3. The kidnapped people weren't kidnapped at all. They all left because of their human-goblinness.

4. There were other gods in Chantes before Ydite. Ydite is also said to bestow magic on people.

Loki's dubious of both the intentions of the king and the intentions of the Order, bUT YOU KNOW HOW SHIT GOES. There may be more, as some threads aren't done, but I'll drop it here if so!

Ahad will back up anything Loki says on point one, as well as add his pregnancy suspicions to it.

Ahad's more wondering if she was murdered while she was pregnant, leading the King to forbid anyone from seeing her body.

Also this could be totally wrong maybe she wasn't pregnant at all WHO KNOWS

Home Investigation
Anna found salt. A lot of salt. She also figured out Agatha is part of the faction who took out the sun, but we know that already, oops. \o/
