new character + permissions

Hello all! I am Kes and I'm already in game with a dumb elf so I thought I would expand my offerings slightly to include an arrogant courtier as well! Félix here is from Théah which is basically 17th century Earth but if there was more magic and a lot of that magic had lovecraftian horribleness attached to it. Félix himself is a courtier from what is essentially pre-revolution France so that... might explain a bit of the insufferable parts (adjusting is gonna be fun for sure).

But more importantly he's a porté sorcerer, a kind of magic that involves ripping bloody screaming portals in the fabric of reality go to marked locations or get marked objects. It involves spilling a lot of the sorcerer's blood to do this and I can understand that this is something that some players mightn't be comfortable with coming up in their rp. As such, I have a post up in Félix's journal already where you can let me know your comfort levels in relation to those themes and potential gore should any of these themes come up in a thread.

Otherwise I look forward to seeing how many people roll their eyes at him in game <3

shamefully i still haven't tagged meallan yet, but i did enjoy what i saw of felix on the tdm and i look forward to seeing him around in game too! c: (i hope he learns how to draw his own bath one day)

and thank you! I enjoyed threading on the tdm as well even with calling everyone an uncoordinated rabble ffft (his life is so hard do you know how difficult it is to draw a bath on your own??? it involves work!!)

I'M NGL Koltira had me going "ok does Felix's magic work if he's injured and already bleeding or does he need to make an effort to do it himself"

Oh my god I suddenly wish I played a different character in this game, namely labyrinthique who 1) is a wizard 2) also named Felix 3) from fantasy France 4) with a major attitude problem. Though blood magic is No Good Very Bad in his canon so he'd probably just have a total panic-meltdown learning that.

That said, I'm sure I can find something interesting for him and Kojuro here, too.

haha, man that's really interesting, I wasn't aware of that canon but the similarities are awesome. Although he'd roll his eyes at that. What's a little blood magic anyway, it's not like he uses other people's blood or anything.

Felix's reactions to some stuff is a little out of proportion to the risk ;) Though he had some very bad experiences with a wizard who dealt primarily in blood magic, so justifiably so.

I've actually been wanting to send Lucy/Nyuu at Meallan too, but I'm not quite sure how at the moment. While I hope to get around to doing that soon or another time in the future, I'm intrigued by what I read in Félix's info so far and I look forward to our thread!

I have a queen here who is also an olden timer!! She'll probably have some opinions on his tone deafness w/r/t how to interact with the masses, though how much she actually voices really depends on context, because she's most likely seen and heard worse. She'll also be side-eyeing the blood magic, since that's how she lost a couple of key people in her life. Oops ...

HOWEVER, she'll at least start off polite, and doesn't tend to behave otherwise unless given a reason. I'll throw her at him!

plz feel free to teach him how to interact with the masses, Daenerys, as he does need a bit of a kick when it comes to getting "commoners aren't automatically garbage you douche". he might actually listen to a queen more, maybe.

but blood magic talks are definitely a thing I welcome and can come up easily, since it's a well known magic in his world and he has no reason to hide it, so I definitely look forward to that coming up!

Yeah, I think she actually identifies somewhat with being looked down upon, because she was a beggar before she was a queen. She was born royal, but the people housing her as an exile died, and she was impoverished and on and off the streets for about 8 years. Her climb back to the top has been a thing. So WE'LL SEE how that goes.
