BACK TO THE FUTURE PLOTTING POST The good news of the week is that recruits are making great progress bug-stomping! The bad news is that they haven't quite gotten all of the bugs. Those left, which is a thankfully very small part of the original population, very suddenly stop eating, stop attacking, and vanish from sight. All is quiet in Oska. That is, of course, until September 1st. The temporal bugs haven't left, they've just secreted themselves away and into cocoons. And what comes out of those cocoons? Something a whole lot meaner. When these guys hatch they're going to be loud, angry, and very aggressive. They're much larger now, about the size of a bull, and they're no longer interested in munching on temporal energy. They will instead attack anything they run into on sight, and can only be dissuaded by death or by the sight of another of the evolved bugs. In the event that two of them meet up, they'll immediately fixate on each other. What follows is presumably some sort of mating dance, which cumulates in the two of them gnawing their way out of this dimension. This produces a rift scar that leaves everything in the area a little temporally weird (more of those ghosts from part 1, but with a lot less flickering), until the area heals over in a day or two. There's one more effect the bugs have: their bites also cause temporal oddities, but localized to the person bitten. It sets in anywhere from 2 to 24 hours after the initial bite, and can last anywhere from two hours to seven days. Characters bitten will find themselves shifting through their own timeline, back into the past already lived, or up into any number of potential futures. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it: characters may remember their time thus far with ALASTAIR clearly, foggily, or not at all, and might not even be anchored to just one alternative point, but drift between a few of them. If anyone has ever wanted to revisit puberty, now would be a great time for it. Things will have returned fully to normal one week later, just in time for the next mission dossier to drop. Sorey: I'm probably gonna go with degaging. Yup. So you guys all get the most sheltered and curious little explorer ever. Basically. Yes, he still had the feather earrings way back when. actual cuties. no really, these nerds. Were the cutest kids. (Though someone may want to like. Throw a leash on Sorey if they don't want him wandering off to explore alone/with just Mikleo.) I may also be half tempted to do some sort of tainted au thing/spoiler end game Sorey too. Since future/au things is also an option.

For Sakura I'm going to roll with her Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles self. Yeah, that version that grew up in the desert and actually knew Fai, Mokona and Kurogane and......forgot all about Syaoran. Because CLAMP is suffering.

Pidge is going to get zapped a few years into the future and be... an entire inch taller!! GASP. But even so she will look significantly older. Also she's got scarring around her left eye and it's been replaced with a ROBOT EYE. Cause I can and because she'd love that. It's not super obvious if you don't look closely, besides the scarring. Also I guess she probably has a contact in the other one now. She's gonna be very serious and probably a little on edge cause she's been basically at war for years and it's given her good reflexes and a hair trigger. Seriously don't sneak up on her.

Fire boss --> Fire nuncle, if he's able to hang up his suit and tie for five minutes, gosh! Laedo will be impressed by the way, not that he was not impressed by most new and unique things as child, by Evan's abilities. Fire's one thing that even the riyalans don't have especial control over.

URAHARA will be a WHOLE 100 YEARS YOUNGER... and also look exactly the same, except he doesn't wear his hat and he looks significantly like more of a dope instead of like a shirty jackass. Don't be fooled. He is definitely still a shirty jackass. He's also a Captain, so even though he's out of his element, he'll probably still maintain some of that authoritative demeanor when he wants to.

He will be deeply annoyed by being here when he was on the verge of doing some great improvements to the Gotei 13, so he'll be proposing a Research and Development Team for the Audentes, because goddammit he's getting his SRDI one way or another.

Present Urahara will be so irked if this actually succeeds, because GODDAMMIT PAST HIM, STOP MAKING HIM DO WORK WHEN HE'S NOT READY TO, but he will ultimately put in the effort to make science happen.

I'll be doing a younger Alice, the same Alice from the original books since McGee canon pulls directly from that! I feel like this will be pretty self-explanatory; if you've seen the Disney movies or any other incarnation (sans Tim Burton), that's how Alice will be. She'll be significantly friendlier and happier compared to her adult self.

I think I'll do this for a few days, but not for too long? I'm not sure.

Haise is actually the alternate amnesiac persona of Ken Kaneki. It's kind of weird, but I tend to liken it to Kingdom Hearts having two people actually be the same guy...except physically existing separately doesn't fly in his world. They're aware of one another, and view each other as separate entities in :re up to the point Haise ceases to be a thing, but Haise doesn't ever remember living as Kaneki. What does this crazy business mean? Since Haise has no recollection of being Kaneki, he won't remember this event.

Since the events following Haise's time in :re are pretty hectic, he'll be getting aged down to Kaneki from the latter half of Tokyo Ghoul. While that knocks him down from 23 to 19, he's physically pretty similar...and he'll veer right toward books. I also intend on shenanigans in the training room since he won't have any understanding of ALASTAIR's tech. Notably, Kaneki is quieter and more obviously introverted presence compared to Haise, but many key qualities are much the same.

He won't know any of you, but some of you might know him.
