I'm Chris! And this jerk with his super fly bucket hat is Urahara Kisuke from BLEACH (coming in fresh from the Deicide arc where everything is bittersweet and not on fire). He is just... a humble, polite, eccentric, cat-loving shopkeeper who is also the single-most brilliant individual in his canon. And if that weren't enough, he's scary in ways that aren't just all about his brain. He's pretty extra, even if he isn't really all that concerned with being powerful and more concerned with being smart and understanding everything around him- it just makes the whole "kind but sure as hell not nice" aspect of his personality stand out.

ON THE PLUS SIDE, at the moment, he's pretty content with being back on square one with everyone here, so be prepared for a slow reveal of just how scary he can be (you know after you either write him off as a moron or decide he's a total sweetheart against all personal logic), so he can get away with doing as little as possible that isn't, you know, science and understanding what ALASTAIR really is. LOOK IT'S NOT LIKE HE DOESN'T APPRECIATE THE WORK YOU'RE DOING, GUYS. He just... has some control issues and some problems with people with god complexes he had to beat into submission that are still a little raw right now.

I'm sure this will go well for him. And everyone else.

FOR NOW, HE'S HERE TO DO A SCIENCE. And be an awesome squidge dad, because he's adorable with smol children. Even water baby smol children.

HIII it's okay. i...only recently got into this series a few months ago because of Arden and cue me reading 500 chapters in like... three weeks. WHOOPS. (think of Urahara like Gold if Gold were, uh... a legitimately nice guy but who also wouldn't hesitate to manipulate you for the greater good. so, uh, Gold as a well-written chaotic good LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN POST SEASON THREE... i mean what)

i played gold for years and years until canon finally made me unable to reconcile... how i wrote him with how they kept backsliding him, so i had to give it up. /stares at hands. but i love and miss graham so yaaas. wolfeh man.

Gold used to be a very compelling character in s1 and 2, though I didn't super love him. That said, he's nothing like what he used to be. they gave up on complexity seasons ago. Gold is now the expected Bad Guy, unless he's sidelined to be Powerful But Not Helpful. -_-

Ah, Urahara. Damn, I gave up reading through Bleach at like chapter 200something forever ago but I did especially adore like the first couple arcs. Urahara was definitely a highlight, even from what I remember reading, tbh. Glad to have him!

aka hi Chris! I'm Caprica and I have two here - Sorey (this journal and History Nerd) is from Tales of Zestiria. He's the Shepherd - essentially, the burdened chosen one of his game, and can see and talk to seraphim - invisible elemental spirits of sorts that he can Dragonball Z fusion with (only this is called armatizing). And then there is Sakura Kinomoto from CLAMP's Cardcaptor Sakura manga series. She's the resident Magical Girl and hella versatile with her Sakura Cards in helping with these missions. I've taken her from the first chapter of the new Clear Card arc, so lmk if you don't want spoilers or something.

She was too cute for me to resist. And now we are....almost a year from the game opening and I still have her here. Yup. It's a nostalgia trip, for sure. At the moment, she is just from the first chapter so there isn't anything too major there, really. It picks up right where the manga left off before, with her reuniting with Syaoran and all, so no major timeskip aside from his time in Hong Kong just prior.
