ALRIGHT, ALASTAIR MEMBERS!! Your most annoying robot (until we get a Claptrap) has heard there will be a fishing tournament and has decided to liven it up a bit with his own personal flair. When I get back from work, I'm going throw up another Network post sort of explaining the plans, BUT for OOC benefit and letting players who are interested know, here's what is going down!!!

ACTUALLY REPORTING ON THE FISHING!!!

basically, it's a planned show with live acts and talent segments from random people who either got dragged in or saw the shenanigans and was like DANG, LEMME ON STAGE.

SO. Obviously, Mettaton is going to need help setting this up. There's going to be a need for people setting up the stage, stage crew, singers, dancers, musicians, magicians (?), basically anyone with any talent they would like to share, security, wranglers, and people to make fliers/banners/confetti. Everyone is very important!!

So come help make this a great little mini-event!! Any character who won't help and won't be that interested in the fishing is welcome to gawk at the fun too, so COME ON DOWN and feel free to do any OOC plotting here!!!

MINI-PLOT FOR THE MINI-PLOT? A MINI-MINI-PLOT?

SO in game canon, olivia has this strange ability associated with her dancing. basically, in the game, olivia will "dance" for a PC after they've attacked and that PC will then be able to attack again without waiting for another turn. in the game's story, they address it as "boosting morale" or "energizing the troops."

after talking it over with the mods, i was given the OK to play around with this a little. olivia will be the last performer in mettaton's showcase, so this mini-mini-plot is available for anyone who happens to witness her performance. for a limited amount of time (anywhere between a couple of hours to one day) after watching olivia's dance, your character can suffer from one (or a combination?) or the following side effects:

• fluctuating/uncontrollable flux in their powers
• an extreme boost in morale that makes them almost manically happy/optimistic
• a fervent or overzealous work ethic or desire to be productive/do things

this is all meant to be for fun and the like, so feel free to be flexible with this! if you have any questions, too, you can ask me here. :)b

Steven can help! With multiple roles:

-As stage crew! Steven has some experience with makeup in canon, so he can definitely help any of the other characters to prepare. He can also help with flyers (although they would be of this quality), confetti and glitter!
-As backup music! He can play along with his ukulele to anyone who is singing/dancing. Anyone is welcome to autopilot his presence during such performances! Just let me know if he'll be needed to react to anything.
-With his own song/dance performance! He will be glad to perform, just like he always does at beach-a-palooza in canon. If anyone wants to form a band with him for this performance, just let me know!

So in summary: Steven will be performing some type of song at the show, and in addition he can be freely handwaved/autopiloted for helping out in a variety of other tasks around the show! And if anyone wants him for anything else specific, feel free to hit me up.

Yata is capable of some somewhat cool and over-the-top flashy uses of his fire powers! He won't volunteer to show them off but with the right pressure (i.e.: the barest amounts of flattery) he can be easily convinced to get on stage and put on a little show.

Otherwise his preferred method of helping out will be to cook! He's already figured out that the crab monsters are perfectly edible but he'll be happy to help out with less horrifying fare as well!

Pearl will be out and about during this mini event! She'll be down for a dance or two if anyone is willing. Dancing is a really big thing for her and her species. She never really dances for recreational purposes, but she's learning to slowly but surely appreciate it. But she can be a performer for the mini event if need be, or to help people to get into the groove of things. The Gem here is also great at organization and planning.

Pearl can also sing, rather passionately too.

She's sure to help out any way she can. c:

Mabel's got some sweet breakdancing moves but ultimately it's less her talents that make her work entertaining, it's more her "creativity". Some may say it's so bad it's good. Except wax carving, she's alarmingly good at that??? And knitting ofc

OTHERWISE SHE WOULD BE 100% READY TO HELP EVERYONE ELSE IN ANY CAPACITY. Especially in the make up and wardrobe department, DID SOMEONE SAY MAKEOVER? Call her beep her when you want to reach her. Perhaps she'll even make you over without being asked. With other, stronger assistants to hold you down. She's prone to ambushing. It'll be fine. Don't worry about it.

Despite the fact that Riku's VA does actually sing so he has a nice voice, Riku'll probably just. Fish. At least he'll hum a nice melody while he does it.

However, show him someone who's struggling to lug wood or construct and he's there. Give him a reason to use his strength for good and he will :v And he builds things really well, won't leave until they're very sturdy so none of the performers have to worry. Or just deem him too pretty to spend the day with fish and bait.
