the aftermath

Greetings, worldhoppers.

The demons and chimeras have cleared out, but all the work in Chantes isn't quite done yet. Until ALASTAIR evacs its agents on the 10th, Odette still needs some clean-up: from the nobles' district down to the outskirts, there's rubble and smoking debris everywhere. Luckily, Graldia has lent her troops to the recovery effort and, in respect for the agreement reached with some ALASTAIR recruits, has agreed to work together with the remains of the city guard and the Order. Agatha Belrose has taken over most of the Order's operations as Arthur tends to the arrangements for his brother, and the group can be seen actually using their magic to help, not hinder, the people. The majority of the citizens are living in tents outside the city, needing food, water and shelter while things are rebuilt.

There's plenty to do, whether it's cleaning up, tending to the sick and wounded, helping the Order restore whole streets or helping Graldia's footmen keep the peace. All's quiet for now, here's hoping it will last.

other notes

There will be no log for Chantes wrap-up, but anyone is welcome to thread these out as desired. We'll be posting more information on the long-term fate of Chantes as characters roll into Oska, but we can tell you this: there will be a lot of surprises, including these two network upgrades courtesy of [personal profile] strictdiscipline and [personal profile] defenceless!

TRACKING/MAP

An agent can pinpoint the location of another agent on a map of the current world, which appears as part of a HUD on their jewelry. The map can be zoomed in to a scale of ten city blocks or zoomed out to the scale of a whole country. It can also be rotated, and will indicate where the north is.

Tracking can be blocked by NPC magic or plot elements, and is not 'automatic' in the sense that characters will not be able to look each other up without explicitly wanting to and knowing the other character's jewel username--as with private messages!

"TEAM BUILDING" DANCE APP

Using the jewelry as motion sensors/UI, characters can team up to hit a target of steps to the tune of pop music from various worlds. Up to 4 players can dance to the same song together, in teams of two or as individuals. There is a scoreboard kept for this app, but it only extends to the current team. Please dance responsibly.

Network upgrades are absolutely something that can be requested on the AC bank, and as they benefit all recruits we strive to make them accessible and inexpensive depending on the means of the asker. If ever you'd like to discuss a potential upgrade with us, let us know! We've made a page for the jewelry (including a link to a cute inbox code) here.

If you have any questions about these apps or the rest of the characters' stay in Chantes, don't hesitate to ask a question below.

Hello! Is there a way for characters to toggle the tracking on/off if they don't want to be found? Can they block/allow specific usernames from tracking them?
