EVENT PLOTTING: TERRA FELIS

A CAT-ASTROPHE Without warning, characters have been removed from Woodhurst via rift -- but instead of returning to the familiar surroundings of Oska, they'll find themselves somewhere entirely new. This is Terra Felis, which characters who have perused the magitek files will recognize as the homeworld of fellow recruits Cherenkov and Crowley. Terra Felis is a longtime ally of ALASTAIR, and serves as one of many planets that operates as a sanctuary in case Oska needs to shut its rift gates down for whatever reason. The locals don't have any idea why the gates have been shut down, but it's a rare enough occurrence that they're a little worried. Still, they are more than happy to host their allies until communication with Oska resumes. NEWBIES IMPORTANT: Incoming characters have not been to Oska this time, instead rifting directly from their home dimensions to Terra Felis. As such, they're at a slight disadvantage -- they won't have any idea what's going on! This is where veteran recruits come in . . . NETWORK: As the cats of Terra Felis are the originators of the magitek that ALASTAIR uses, newbies will be able to choose a jewelcomm if they wish, so you'll have network access right away. NOTES Please use this post to plot in the comments below! There will be only one log in Terra Felis, which will last for approximately three weeks both IC and OOC, but expect an NPC announcement near the end of their stay . . . BUDDY SIGN-UPS. If you would like your veteran character to guide a newbie, please sign up below! Please note that since Oska is incommunicado, this is not an IC sign-up, nor is it an IC assignment; ICly, characters will simply stumble upon each other by happenstance. In other words, this is purely OOC matchmaking, so make sure your character is the type to answer questions and make sure you have the OOC availability! Matches will be announced 10 April 23:59 UTC. 1) The technomancers have no real reason to hide anything from their ALASTAIR allies, and moreover they are always thrilled to talk about how brilliant they are, so they'll gladly explain the rift machines' details to anyone who will listen. It's all a bunch of complex math and quantum mechanics combined with magic, though, and they seem incapable of dumbing it down, so actually understanding it is a different matter altogether.

As for their creation, it's purely in order to help ALASTAIR; the cats themselves do not use them. They also don't know much about the state of the Timeline itself, and say that those questions are better suited to ALASTAIR veterans.

ooooone last question, i promise (i hope)... but let's say, hypothetically, a paladin and a ninja get it in their heads to try and free all the animals in the zoo. 8'| is it possible? will they go to kitty jail...

Doing so would be extremely offensive to their feline hosts and would result in them getting thrown in jail, yes! It also wouldn't be easy -- the zoo has safeguards and security cameras, after all -- and they would be treated with disdain for the rest of their stay, as well as during any future interactions with Terra Felis.
