NOVEMBER PLOTTING
Hi, Audentes! This month, we'll be trying something a little different. Consider this a gamewide OOC plotting post for the entire month of November. We encourage you to use this post throughout the month for plotting, not just at the beginning of the month -- following plot developments, you might find some new plotting opportunities! The official November calendar can be found here, but as a refresher, here's what you can expect for the following month.
11/05 ★ THE SALOON FIRE
 On November 5th, characters will begin to smell something burning. Once they investigate, they'll see that the saloon is on fire. Unfortunately, the arsonist(s) responsible for the fire have ensured it's too late for the building itself, but there's still many unknown outcomes. Save someone from being trapped under a pile of burning wreckage (or leave them there, if you're awful), recover left-behind valuables (or steal them as tenants flee), make sure your loved ones are safe -- there's much to be done.
As the saloon is no longer a viable option, characters will need to find other shelter. They can plead with homeowners and shopkeepers for lodging, or rough it out in the great outdoors. It's probably smart to squeeze a group into that tiny cot in the back room, or find three or four people to help create a makeshift tent; this one will be hard to go alone.
A few things to think about when plotting: your character's escape from the saloon, whether or not they'll stick around long enough to rescue/steal/watch the world burn/etc., and what route they'll be going after they realize they no longer have anywhere to sleep. Do they have any survival skills, or are they particularly charismatic and persuasive with strangers? If not, what's their plan of action? Those who already room outside the saloon, now's the time to figure out if you're willing to share (or sell) part of your lodging.
There will be an open log for this event. We will also have optional, time-limited sign-ups for characters interested in investigating the arson.
11/19 ★ THE TRUTH ABOUT DEEMERS
Recently, a recruit met with Reverend Black face-to-face and discovered a secret: inside the Reverend's head was a small, writhing slug, able to psychically communicate before dying. Another recruit happened to come upon a holodisc containing pertinent information about the creatures, officially known as the Taraxa. As of 11/01, this is OOC knowledge only. For the ease of plotting, we are releasing the information, but please remember that characters will not know until Rey and Keith share with the team!
Soon the truth about the Deemers and their role here will be revealed, and a choice will have to be made. Should the team focus on their mission objective or follow this newfound information? More information about this event coming soon.
Following a conversation with Lloyd, ALASTAIR's resident Taraxa, Rey and Keith told the network of their findings. Now here's the question: should characters focus on taking care of the Deemers, or the mining efforts? Can the Deemer hosts be saved, and if so, how? Is it worth the risk to ALASTAIR team members to even try? We're open to any and all ideas, as well as any number of approaches -- there are many Deemers! Around a couple hundred, as far as the team can tell.
Whatever your characters decide to do, you will be able to submit your course of action as a CYOA in the November 19th post. We highly suggest forming groups, both for IC and OOC reasons.
What happens here is up to you. We encourage plotting publicly on this post once more information is released now, and, of course, welcome multiple groups and different approaches! Depending on plotting, there is a possibility of IC: OOC time dilation. Many of you have been around for this already, but to those who are confused -- Futurology generally runs on a 1:1 day ratio, meaning one day ICly is also one day OOCly. During periods of intense action, however, we like to give players more time to thread while still keeping it believable timeline-wise! For example, a log could cover 24 hours ICly but 1 week OOCly. Time in the game would, essentially, be 'on hold' for that week.

MISCELLANEOUS
Don't forget that there's even more going on while these events are happening! You may remember, on the dossier, three mission objectives; the primary objective being to investigate the fundamentalists, the secondary objective being to stop the mining efforts, and the optional objective being to retrieve ALASTAIR records from a previous mission.
Quests pertaining to these objectives can be found on the bounty board, as well as non-story-related quests and player bounties!
MOD NOTES Please feel free to use this post in whatever way you wish to facilitate plotting. There are no "rules" for how things should be done, so don't worry! Again, we highly suggest coming back to plot for the November 19th event once more information is released.
