Hi Futuro! Another newb here. My name is Lindsay and I'm bringing in my robot OC, Rocky. Before I go on, here is my obligatory opt-out post if OCs aren't your jam (it's also my HMD post so comments are screened.)

Unfortunately, I don't have a visual ref or icons yet but I am (gradually) working on those. (VERY gradually.) However! I do have this handy dandy character info post to help you get a better idea of what he's like. My app and permissions post are also available in his journal.

Basically, he's a self-aware AI in a humanoid robot body that was programmed to feel a wide range of human emotions. Yet, his programming only allows him to express positive emotions, so he seems perpetually cheerful. He hails from a futuristic Chicago where he served to protect the city from violent, post-apocalyptic wastelanders. He also comes equipped with—YOU GUESSED IT—gun arms that shoot lasers!

Don't worry, he's used to that sort of reaction (plus it's fun to play against). His objective is to just keep smiling and being nice until somebody likes him. Or until they punch him. Whichever comes first.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's into robots AND objectheads.

And thanks! I look forward to having Rocky make some robo friends. I don't know much about Overwatch but did Zenyatta come from a society of robots that existed separately from humans? If so, Rocky would be fascinated to learn about that.

Technically no, not separate entirely, but he did live in a monastery away from humans for a handful of years. QUICK SUMMARY Omnics share with Rocky the "originally made for humans" thing, but instead of everything being a-ok, omnics declared war on all of humanity. So uh, there's that history there!! Not that Zenyatta is gung-ho for war or anything. But he'll sympathize with Rocky a lot on that "wanting to be acknowledged as having his own thoughts and feelings" thing.

OH BOY. Yes, he will LOVE hearing about this. While he has no problem being used as a weapon by some members of humanity to mow down other members of humanity, the idea of going to war against all of humanity (willingly) is a pretty big deal.

aw hey man!! :D i'm so glad to have you in game! you just might be familiar with ramir here, but DID U KNOW i also just apped a robot! i've got knock out from transformers prime as well, who would probably look down on rocky for being human built :') sorry buddy. gotta have that balance since ramir would probably immediately befriend him, right?

Well, I HAVE to get CR with Rocky now, because OBJECT HEADS ARE MY JAM. Seriously, I'm a sucker for object heads, and Rocky sounds absolutely wonderful, so you'll be getting a grumpy Irish magical journalist in the form of Keats here in the near future for sure. (I might even doodle up Rocky when I have the time, I've been drawing characters like him for a long time!)

Thanks, Shana! No need to apologize—I was really hoping for Pidge cr anyway. (She's my favorite rainbow lion.) And Rocky doesn't mind over-excited techno geeks, unless they're trying to reverse engineer him. Then he'll hide.

Thanks! Sooooooooo, about that trauma... I'm guessing Tony is from a post-Ultron canon point? I'm curious to know what his current thoughts are on AI. (I'm pretty canonblind, sorry.)

He's from current canon, so post Civil War... He has pretty massive guilt issues from creating Ultron so there's that. But he also... still uses his new AI, so.
