Gil will... honestly probably laugh. Shishi, however, will do his best not to seem threatening! He's a very smart lion, and if someone appears to be scared of him, he'll just roll over and want to play. At the very least it's unlikely he'll do anything to rattle him further.

Really, Shishi just wants to cuddle and mess around. More of a big kitten than a big cat.
