Happy Holidays, worldhoppers! During the upcoming event log, characters that signed up will be invited or roped into the goblins' various holiday traditions and events. Though they may refuse or fail these tasks, for every one that isn't accomplished, characters will suffer one effect from the curses list for upsetting the holiday balance. The tasks can ICly be volunteered for or assigned randomly, and everyone will be magically paired with other characters to better spread this season's blessings. OOCly everyone was assigned at least two partners, however, these tasks don't need to be accomplished in a large group and may be different between characters. Curses last for 12-24 hours.
Players are welcome to suggest their own tasks and curses for themselves or other pairs to use as well. We'll update the list as it goes, and don't worry about asking permission! We'll let you know if anything won't fly or needs to be changed.
TASK LIST.
Make or otherwise acquire presents for goblin children.
Help cook for the holiday feast.
Train sleigh wolves.
Find and catch a wild, red-nosed reindeer.
Drive off a herd of destructive moose.
Make sugar cookies shaped after other recruits.
Defeat another pair in a snowball fight.
Decorate the halls of the inn.
Return some leftover goop to the fairies as a peace offering.
Sneak into peoples homes to deliver gifts.
Make snowmen versions of the ALASTAIR team.
Destroy the snowmen when they inevitably turn evil.
Go caroling around town.
Collaborate on an double's ice skating routine.
Matchmake some lonely souls together for NYE.
Create a giant ice sculpture in the queen's memory.
Taste test magical mulled wine.
Put on an interpretive show for the kids based on a fairy tale.
Construct personalized holiday cards for other ALASTAIR members.
Help treat and tend for injured goblins at their church.
Steal pies from the royal kitchen.
Keep the main celebration's bonfire going all night.
Find and buy the last holiday goose.
Teach a group of children how to wassail.
Write and perform a new carol.
Shop for the perfect pair of mittens and present them to another recruit.

Turn mute all day.
Every food you touch turns into candy canes.
Be unable to resist dancing every time you hear a song.
Be pelted with snowballs by fairies every time you go out.
Leave frost in your wake wherever you go.
Be followed by 20 turtle doves.
Grow a long, white beard.
Catch a contagious case of persistent and drippy sniffles.
Everything you say sounds like a riddle to other people.
All children in sight demand candy even when you have none.
Characters that didn't sign up are welcome to help out people trying to complete their tasks, or participate in general! They just won't be assigned anything themselves or suffer any curses.

I AM EXCITED FOR RANDOM MATCH-UPS but, in general, Koltira would be pretty adverse to doing almost all of these tasks (except hunting the reindeer and slaughtering snowmen; he's down for that). I would love folks to 'gently encourage' or 'violently coerce' him into doing his part, tbh.
(but he'll also surely at least be cursed by snowball pelting fairies)

Cullen's probably going to gravitate toward training the sleigh wolves or making the sugar cookies (which he'll fail because he's weak to sugar cookies and will eat them himself). He will also happily do battle with evil snowmen.
His punishment will probably will be getting harassed by reindeer. It seems appropriate.
Alice is all about presents and cooking for kids, goblins and humans. I'll probably stick her in something like this and throw her at other curses. But if the team she got paired wants to annihilate another team in snowball fights...

Johanna is probably going to skip, ignore, or otherwise botch most (if not all) of her tasks, so everyone come feel free to laugh at her extremely well-deserved misfortune when she gets cursed to high hell. :D

I'll probably set up some closed prompts for her partners and tag in to other's top-levels rather than top-leveling myself! I know I've talked to some people on plurk but let me know here if you want to finalize plans, bring over what we talked about on the CR meme to this event, or receive a tag from Rin. c:
i know we talked on the cr meme about tossing rin and riza together at some point and now seems a good a time as any. i'm still waffling on whether or not to do an open prompt but i have a few closed prompts i need to write up anyway so if you wanted to do something, i'd be happy to write up a prompt for rin as well.
