this is so badly timed with the post below it

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ME ON PLURK, this is not a surprise, but for those who don't, perhaps it could be! Peter Parker, that normal guy that is fairly easy to get along with, was infected in the first few weeks of the Woodhurst Mission. And while he's held out for a good while (handwavey spider mutated genes / me wanting my other dude to have some fun in woodhurst too!!!), his infection is going to hit, in full force, in the this month. right when a bunch of other stuff is getting bad, too. I know. his timing is great.
what does that mean for you? well, nothing, unless you'd like it to! I come with my gently theorized progression of events, and hope that there are a few interested futurgooglies that might like to plot with me!
for those of you lucky enough to not have any idea who Spider-Man is, bravo, because this loser probably has not taken over your brain like has has to me. he's a kid capable of catching busses full of people, has reflexes so fast he can catch things he didn't even see thrown at him and hear things miles away from him. these things are all well and good, when he uses them for good, and he's in control of his actions. that's where the laughing over salad part comes in.
audentes will have quite a task on their hands in containing him once he's on the loose, and since I'm awful, I'd love for him to have a bunch of things to regret when he's back to being himself again. he'll be in the 7 week mark when all is said and done, and he won't have a lot of control over the violent and destructive behavior. If you want to get your character injured by him in his rampage, I am game for that! there's a lot of ways to do it and he is incredibly strong, so we can figure out something for just about everyone.
even if you don't want your character hurt, I'm game for plotting interactions with him when he's out of it as well as trying to catch him, or even just keeping him from hurting NPCs. currently i do have an endgame for him being subdued, but I (and I am sure he) would understand if members of Audentes tried to take him down, or put him down, even. and they can try, but for obvious reasons I'd rather they not succeed.
just because I love plotting and planning apparently, here's a short timeline of what I've got in mind, subject to changes with interested parties and further planning:
FEBURARY 3RD. Peter was infected by a sleep deprived looking senior at a frat party playing beer pong... oops, maybe that wasn't such a good idea after all.
MARCH 10TH. 5 weeks infected... signs have been a bit subtle but they are starting to ramp into high gear at this point.
MARCH 17TH. After accidentally hurting someone and finally realizing something is wrong, Peter tests his own blood and realizes his infected status (chars are welcome to find his blood test!) and goes into hiding. Thanks to a convo with Keith, he does have a backup plan. As in... he's putting himself into a medically-induced coma in a sealed room in the sewers? no big deal... you are welcome to find him at this point too, I don't mind, but watch out when he wakes up.
MARCH 20TH. Stiles will put up a post looking for help in finding him. I'm game with them actually doing that, frankly, but if they do, he will just get out a little earlier...
MARCH 22ND. At this point very close to 7 weeks infected, there's little sense left and a whole lot of enhanced senses and super strength to worry about. He will escape his self-induced captivity and start attacking the city, and leaving a lot of damage in his wake.
MARCH 23RD The rampage will be put to an end, but problems of containment will still be an issue.
WITH ALL THIS TL;DR OUT OF THE WAY, HERE ARE THE BULLETPOINTS:
— Peter will be attacking Woodhurst and definitely be a threat at large.
— I am definitely willing to let him attack and hurt PCs if interested!
— Any character interested in attacking him is fine, too. I am happy to let him get injured as well, he maybe superpowered but he's not invincible. i just don't want him to die, so no killing blows.
— there is a plan for catching him, though it could use some helpers? feel free to ask Celen!
— Stiles will have an IC post on him being missing.
— after the event is over, most of audentes should recognize he has some powers he just never talked about, and can probably connect him to being that weirdo that flings himself through the sky in a latex suit.
— after he is caught, he will need containment. Keith & Lance just crafted a post on that, but considering Peter's strength and state of infection, he might need more restricted containment. Any ideas are welcome, and I am willing to have him legitimately knocked out into another coma if we can't think of anything, lol
any ideas? wanna participate? just wanna yell at me for being a monster? HIT ME WITH IT! or you can catch me on plurk atmeowed!

Haise is superhuman (well, half-human now...) himself and capable of catching up to Pete if he takes advantage of his abilities. For instance he can make his way up buildings with his kagune. They've talked over the network, and more importantly, they're teammates, so he'd certainly lend a hand in any efforts to apprehend him.
While he has experience with containing super-powered people, they don't have handy-dandy ghoul prison facilities around these parts. With respect to Peter's abilities possibly coming into the fore, he'd suggest scoping out a structure made of reinforced concrete. Some people have bomb shelters, so one of those could easily be repurposed for Peter.

a shelter is a really good idea, imo! he'll be less able to bust out of it and keeping him contained is probably the best strategy when he is so out of control of his own actions.
and someone he can go toe-to-toe with would really be interesting! anything in particular you're looking for? I don't know Haise's canon at all so I'd be intrigued... and I wonder how much of it Peter will remember after-the-fact, which could provide interesting cr...

That's what he'd be thinking. As a half-ghoul who's worked in an organization that well. Destroys or detains ghouls, he'd be thinking in terms of inhuman levels of strength. It only helps that this situation isn't unlike his experience: when ghouls go without food for a certain period, they become ravenous and lose control of themselves.
So Woodhurst has been...interesting for him.
And I agree, it's got good potential for some fun CR development. Not to mention, it'd segue into addressing the question of how Haise is different, which he hedged around with Peter before. And then finding out how Peter himself is unusual could put them on somewhat level terms and possibly make it easier for them to talk later.
As for what he can do, he's a little ridiculous but here goes. He's got heightened senses that go with a predatory species. Most useful in this case are better night vision and the ability to track a scent from several city-blocks away. He's met Peter in the Squidge Park, so that'd be useful. At baseline, a ghoul is about 3-4x stronger than a human. Haise is the second-highest power level ghouls are ranked by but with the drawback that he consumes the bare minimum to function, so he's likely to easily match Peter in terms of brute force from what I know of Spidey. He can regenerate pretty swiftly, has a high pain threshold, and can produce a limb from his back called a kagune. His particular type is known for striking power, so he can easily punch into reinforced concrete or steel with it, which he's done to scale buildings. The shape can change according to his will and mental state, with the drawback that it has a looser cellular bond and thus can be damaged more easily than denser kagune varieties. In terms of appearance it's bright red and serpentine in texture, so Peter might remember something that strange even vaguely. His left eye might also be memorable, the icon's how it often looks when he's using his kagune.
Sorry for the novella, but in short I think he can match up with a Marvel. He's got very good control over himself and is a gentle soul, so there's no risk of him doing serious harm to Peter.

they sound like they're pretty even as far as strength goes? I wouldn't be an expert so I'll rely on your experience for that! i have a hard time really calculating what strength peter has, though I think the heaviest thing he lifted was a bus full of people, so he's pretty strong. he's also very resilient to attack even if he doesn't heal instantly. I don't think he'd be able to hold back very much, unless at some point he has a moment of clarity, and if he did I think he'd take that opportunity to try and get away. we might want to plan on that, since he'll be contained properly by stiles & co.
if only for cr reasons, I think I'd like him to remember a bit of his encounter with haise. it'd def give them something to talk about once all this is said and done.

As for containment, I'm also seconding Ren's suggestion for a bomb shelter. Probably with some guards just in case he busts out...

I'd def love a showdown! He will get to see her powers in action... though in the worst possible way, sob

I'm not sure what use this asshole is gonna be, but he likes Peter and thinks he's a good kid. Er, presuming that he would get his actual name during their thread, since I know he's in the suit. What do you think?
